Job Description

Facilities Management is hiring an Inventory Management Supervisor. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory
control and stock accuracy within the warehouse by ensuring optimal inventory levels, timely reconciliation, and adherence to company
policies and procedures.
Duties:
- Supervises day-to-day inventory operations, including receiving,
storing, cycle counting, and order fulfillment. - Ensures accurate and timely inventory records using ERP or WMS
systems. - Leads, trains, and mentors assigned staff
- Assists with the development and enforcement of inventory control
procedures and best practices. - Analyzes minimum and maximum stock levels by reviewing usage history and coordinating with department
stakeholders. - Investigates and resolves unit of measure discrepancies in the inventory system.
- Conducts cycle count research
and reconcile inventory variances to maintain data accuracy. - Manages supplier relationships including resolution of issues related
to ordering, invoicing, credits, and account discrepancies. - Coordinates processes for identifying and handling idle or obsolete
inventory. - Oversees planning and execution of the annual physical inventory.
- Assists the Inventory Coordinator in the
establishment and maintenance of inventory contracts (currently limited in volume). - Supports inventory item additions and deletions
in the system, particularly during coordinator absences. - Leads initiatives to incorporate large volumes of Utilities and Landscape
materials into the 705 warehouse inventory. - Partners with departments to locate and process obsolete or excess
parts. - Provides operational support to warehouse staff during periods of high customer demand or staffing
shortages. - Collaborates with vendors to resolve complex returns, delivery issues, and discrepancies.
- Performs material
pickups and deliveries for urgent needs ensuring timely support to operations. - Coordinates asset tagging of newly purchased
materials across Facilities Management. - Assists the inventory buyer with resolving complex invoicing and payment
issues. - Reviews and updates internal ordering workflows to ensure alignment with updated purchasing policies and
procedures. - Performs other dues as assigned.
Job Requirements
*
Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, AND:
-
3 years of
experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, supply chain, logistics or related field to include 1 year of leadership or
supervisory experience.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of inventory control
principles, supply chain logistics, and warehouse operations. - Familiarity with procurement processes, supplier
management, and contract coordination. - Ability to interpret and apply purchasing policies, procedures, and contract
terms. - Proficient in data analysis and inventory reconciliation techniques.
- Ability to identify
process improvements and implement best practices across inventory operations. - Effective problem-solving and
critical-thinking skills. - Strong leadership and team supervision skills with the ability to train, delegate, and manage
performance. - Understanding of unit of measure standards, material classification, and stock level
optimization. - Knowledge of applicable safety standards, compliance requirements, and asset management
protocols.
Certifications:
- State issued driver’s license
- Ability
to obtain forklift certification within 90 days of hire
Working Conditions:
- Work is
performed in both warehouse and office environments. - Exposed to varying temperatures, dust, and noise levels typical of a warehouse
setting. - Regular use of forklifts, pallet jacks, mobile elevated work platform, and other material handling equipment.
- May
require standing, walking, bending, or lifting items up to 50 lbs. - Occasional extended hours, evening, or weekend work may be
required to meet operational deadlines. - Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, high-visibility
vests, gloves, and eye protection as needed. - May require climbing ladders and stairs.
- May be designated as an essential
position during emergency closures. - May be required to remain on campus overnight during weather or other emergencies.
Supervision: 5 full-time staff positions, 2 student positions
