Responsibility / Duty
Proactively and strategically monitor, assess, plan and maintain a comprehensive, operational campus-wide client computing infrastructure.
Percentage Of Time: 25
Responsibility / Duty
Maintain a state of operational readiness concerning business continuity capabilities in regards to client computing systems.
Percentage Of Time: 25
Responsibility / Duty
Ensure that Nicholls State University’s client computing infrastructure conforms to best practices and advances in the field.

Responsibility / Duty
Work collaboratively with IT Directors, the CIO, and outside consultants as appropriate in regards to the support of the campus client computing infrastructure.

Minimum Experience Required
- Proven experience as computer technician or similar role- Excellent customer support skills and a service-oriented attitude
- Excellent broad knowledge and experience with information technology generally, and more specifically with client computing devices
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment
- Strong analytical, systems thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both highly technical and non-technical audiences
- Working technical knowledge of desktop and mobile computing operating systems
- Experience supporting desktop and mobile computing devices of all types
- Ability to thoroughly document IT systems, processes and controls
- Possess professional attitude and strong work ethic
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related field.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting Dell OptiPlex desktops, Dell Latitude notebooks, Microsoft Surface tablets, and various mobile client computing devices.
- Strong understanding of the higher education environment, including IT systems and business processes in academic and administrative functions.
Physical Demands
- Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or to any number of elements
- Light work with some physical demands such as continuously lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds, but rarely moving more than 25 to 70 pounds
- Must be available to occasionally provide system maintenance or end-user support outside of normal business hours
