Job Description:
Job Summary
Comprehensive knowledge of the
practices and techniques of landscape construction, agronomy, and/or landscape maintenance; of plant life as applied to ornamental
horticulture; of plant materials, planting techniques, erosion control, and pesticides. Working knowledge of landscape design and
construction work. Skill in reading and interpreting landscape architectural plans, specifications, proposal forms and estimates; in the use
and maintenance of tools and equipment of the trade; in making field investigations. Ability to plan and program assigned projects; to
organize and lead the work of assigned personnel; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Authority and
Accountability
This position has no direct reports and no budgetary authority.
Required/Minimum
Qualifications
May require bachelor’s degree or additional years of experience
Two years in landscape construction,
agronomy, or landscape maintenance work.
Extensive knowledge of all aspects of grounds/horticulture maintenance, including, but not
limited to, growing characteristics, warm and cool season grasses, recognition of and appropriate treatment of diseases, pests and weeds,
technical equipment.
Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations; to follow oral and written instructions; to
communicate effectively; to operate and perform minor maintenance on assigned tools and equipment; to perform physical work requiring
bending, stooping, reaching, carrying, heavy lifting; to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions; to wear and work in personal
protective equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office suite
(Outlook, Word, Excel).

The position is a full-time, non-exempt state role with
comprehensive benefits.
