POSITION SUMMARY:
To perform activities relative to the receipt, sorting, and
delivery of all campus mail, and other mail related services.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job duties
specific to this position:
- Make mail run twice daily to Dewitt Post Office.
- Sort all incoming mail to administrative
offices, faculty boxes and student dorms. - Provide assistance to faculty, staff and students at mailroom window including selling of
postage and weighing packages. - Make mail runs to all campus locations including residence halls and administrative offices for
pick-up and delivery of mail and parcels. - Process all out-going mail and parcels.
- Maintain appropriate records of all cash
received, department mail charges, stamps sold, business reply and express mail, and postage due mail. - Train, schedule and oversee
the College work study students assigned to work in the mailroom. - Advise and assist people using the mailroom with postal
regulations and how our services, and those of the U.S. Postal Service and private mail services, can best meet their mailing
needs. - Perform duties outside classification incidental to the responsibilities of the Physical Plant Department or such duties as
assigned.

and industry trends. - Performs a variety of related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or
equivalent.
- 40 hour work week; overtime required.
- Ability to read, write and follow
instructions. - Possession of valid NY State Drivers license.
- Physical ability to lift and carry mail bags (approximately
40-50 lbs.) and stand for long periods of time. - Working knowledge of U.S. Postal regulations preferred.
- May have to work
overtime hours on an intermittent basis when operational needs arise.

Pay Range: $17.82 – $19.72 per hour
