JOB SUMMARY
The Operations Manager is responsible for the management and evaluation of media operations which includes
coordinating, scheduling of audiovisual productions, staff assignments and equipment maintenance.

Process internal and external
requests for services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage and evaluate the daily operations of media projects and assigned
staff.


Develop policies and procedures for filling requests for television production services, as well as controlling production
facilities and equipment.

Develop, monitor, and evaluate employee work schedules.


Keep abreast of current media trends and
recommends possible innovative future video needs.

Act as a liaison with the City of Houston Master Control for program scheduling
and program delivery.


Interface with both System-wide department managers and external groups to develop cable
programming.

Ensure programming compliance as required by City of Houston contract.


Plan and coordinate multi-activity
projects in a logical and cost-effective manner.

Act as a consultant in developing special projects that might include audio-visual
components.


Recommend annual operating budget, staff, and equipment needs.

Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as
required and assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree
    preferred in management, journalism, communications, radio/television, computer technology, media services, audio/visual instruction,
    educational administration, or a related field preferred
  • 5 years management experience in media or higher education setting,
    directly related to media operations or cable television management required

Licensing & Certification


  • Valid Texas Driver
    License

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable
accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment;
apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others
to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
