Position Summary

Project ECHO has an exciting opportunity for a Program Coordinator to join the NM Diabetes and Latin America Team!


The NM Diabetes & Latin American Team provides program management and strategic support to advance diabetes ECHO programs and the expansion of ECHO into Latin America.

As a successful Program Coordinator, you will play an active role in:


  • Planning and coordinating the defined day-to-day administrative activities of a set of funded activities.
  • Serving as the central point of contact for the day-to-day programmatic, operational, and administrative matters with external and internal stakeholders (presenters, ECHO participants, medical directors, hub team members, and other Project ECHO staff).
  • Assisting with training, meetings, special projects, and general problem resolution of ECHO program document submissions, Zoom, Smartsheet forms, IT support requests, and REDCap surveys.
  • Collecting and reviewing disclosures, IP waivers, presenter slides, and cases to ensure accuracy and adherence with Project ECHO and University CME policies and procedures.
  • Editing, maintaining, and distributing promotional and training materials as appropriate to the program.
  • Editing and implementing marketing materials using consistent institution branding.
  • Communicating directly with the ECHO participants regarding the ECHO program, case presentations, and announcements of the various programs.
  • Gathering data from ECHO program sessions for attendance, didactic, and case tracking. Maintaining program records such as funder reports, program development, and implementation.
  • Working closely with the REDI team to ensure successful data entry of programmatic information.
  • Assisting with the preparation of special ECHO program reports and summaries, selecting relevant data from a variety of sources.
  • Performing clerical and administrative support tasks for the NM Diabetes team, LATAM Team, and Program Director, including creation of agendas, note-taking, editing program updates, purchasing materials, compiling reports, printing program handbooks, and other publications.
  • Assisting with team administrative needs for special events, training, recruitment efforts, in in-person staff meetings for the NM Diabetes and LATAM team.
  • Arranging translation and interpretation services for the NM Diabetes and LATAM team.
  • Updating any diabetes and LATAM materials needed for training, recruitment, and reporting.
  • Coordinating ECHO Programs using the iECHO platform regarding IT, IRB, evaluation, continuing education, and branding with other support staff and faculty.

We work with partners all over the world and work hours outside of normal business hours may be required. We are fortunate to have access to advanced technology, which will require some teleworking.

Conditions of Employment

  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University’s influenza vaccination requirement.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Minimum Qualifications


High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

* Can read and write in Spanish
