Description:
Parking and Transportation Services is seeking an Office Coordinator for a variety of administrative tasks
associated with employee, student and guest parking permits at Syracuse University. These duties include, but are not limited to, assisting
customers with online and in-person purchases. Manually entering and verifying data using the parking permit software. Answering customer
questions and concerns via email, phone and in-person. Excellent customer service skills required. General clerical, secretarial and special
project duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma required.
- Computer literacy
essential. - Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Committed
to customer satisfaction and providing exceptional customer support. - Strong phone contact and active listening
skills. - Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm when customers are upset.
- Resolve customer issues
promptly or notify manager when appropriate; problem solving attitude. - Demonstrated teamwork
skills.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate excellence in providing exceptional customer support.
- Answer customer
questions, address customer concerns, and educate customers on University parking policies and procedures by email, phone, and in-person
interactions. - Resolve customer issues promptly or notify manager when appropriate. Manifest a solution-oriented, problem-solving
approach. - Assist customers with in-person and online permit purchasing.
- Demonstrate empathy, patience and a positive
customer-focused attitude. - Administer the Departments Guest Reservation system, including tracking the number of used parking spots
and ensuring the proper chart-string is billed; maintain customer records by accurately updating and recording information. - Utilize
the parking software to accurately complete data entry and verification; utilize Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word as
required. - With an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency, assist the field staff with daily reconciliations of the lots and garages as
well as with pre- and-post parking event administration.
