Description
Behind every successful student and faculty member is someone making sure the pieces come together. In this
role, you’ll be that connector – planning events, coordinating travel, and managing details that make a big difference in day-to-day life in
the Statistics department. You’ll be the go-to person for keeping things running smoothly and help faculty and students feels at home on
campus.
What You’ll Get to Do

dissertations. - Bring people together through planning workshops, small events, and meetings (virtual and in-person).
- Be part
of growth by assisting with faculty recruitment, from travel arrangements to interview schedules. - Support success from day one by
helping new faculty transition smoothly into our community. - Work as a trusted partner to colleagues across campus, collaborating
with a strong team of experienced staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Graduate Students with onboarding new
students. - Track and maintain student records and data.
- Update department website content in partnership with the
Communications team. - Support faculty through the Promotion & Tenure process with clear documentation.
- Coordinate travel
arrangements including flights, hotels, cars, and conference registration. - Manage faculty review materials and maintain records with
accuracy and confidentiality. - Schedule and organize meetings and events for alumni, faculty, and students.
- Oversee equipment
and space inventory.
Shift
Generally, Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day. Typically, 8 am to 5 pm.
Occasional nights and weekends for events.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and at
least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and
Word - Experience with SLATE
- Someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, service-oriented
environment
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $17 – $21 per hour
Grade: GGS –

This position is located on the campus of the University of Missouri-Columbia. Candidates must live in the state
of Missouri or be willing to relocate prior to the hire date. Candidates must be available for reliable and consistent on-site
work.
