Summary
RISD Dining and Catering is actively seeking On-Call Bartender/Servers to join their dynamic team.
An On-Call
Bartender/Server serves customers in a professional and courteous manner. Works independently and efficiently to set up and break down
catering events at various campus locations, and off campus location, according to the venues specific requirements. Flexibility to work at
various locations on campus as directed by supervisor in order to meet department wide needs. Ensures the cleanliness of assigned
location.
Essential Functions
In support of Dining Service’s mission and values, the incumbent may be called
upon to perform any one or a combination of the following functions listed below.

Set up, serve, and break down catering
events. This includes, but is not limited to: -
Setting dining tables and buffet tables with china, flatware, glassware, and
linens.

Run food from designated kitchen area to dining area on demand

Set buffets with food presentation
standing and practice in mind; ensuring safe food handling.

Serving beverages and food items tableside to the
guest. -
Prepare alcoholic and non alcohol beverages while keeping a clean bar area

Ability to interact with
customers and staff in a pleasant and professional manner. Waits on a customers in a timely and courteous manner, representing RISD and the
Dining department professionally and knowledgeably to a diverse clientele including students, faculty, staff, museum visitors and the
general public. Adheres to established customer service goals and standards. -
Assist in keeping clean working area. Ensures
that all front-of-house areas are properly maintained by wiping, washing, sweeping and picking up debris. -
Ensures that all
health code procedures are followed. This includes but is not limited to; temperature management, personal hygiene and sanitation.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Experience

High school diploma or equivalent combination of
education and experience is required. -
Strong attention to detail.

TIPS trained
Valued
but not required skills and experience:
-
One to three years of progressively responsible experience, in restaurant,
college or cafe-style food service -
Rhode Island sanitation/ServSafe certification

This position is on-call and therefore schedule will vary. Average 15 hours/week.
