Position Description

Position
Summary

The Operations Manager supports the Department of Mathematical Sciences and associated programs, most especially the Data
Science program.

  • Must provide timely and excellent customer service to students, faculty,
    and other staff
  • Draft, edit, and coordinate departmental policies and procedures
  • Train new Faculty or Adjuncts on
    departmental policies, processes, and Brightspace 
  • Coordinate ETP requests
  • Creation of Departmental Dashboard to track
    key performance indicators  
  • Build relationships with Alumni (needs to start while they are in the program)
  • Analyze
    student assessment data and generate reports. 
  • Maintain administrative calendar and facilitate departmental
    operations.
  • Assist in revising and updating course syllabi, exams, manuals, handbooks and website. 
  • Assists the Chair
    with the day to day implementation and monitoring of the departmental budget and Cost Center (s) including initiating/processing Purchase
    Orders and Check Requests. 
  • Facilitate meetings by reserving rooms and arranging setup for a variety of
    situations.
     Secure textbook lists from professors and send to students
  • Administrative responsibilities as
    needed

  • Bachelor’s
    degree
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Positive and professional attitude and behavior
  • Excellent
    written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Thorough, with great attention to detail
  • Proficient in Google
    Workplace and Microsoft software 
  • Ability to work independently  
  • Experience in higher education a
    plus
  • Interest in understanding data science

Clearance and; 



4)      Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check. 


In
accordance with state laws, Act 73 of 2007, Act 153 of 2014, Act 168 (relating to the Child Protective Services Law), school employees of
Eastern University who will have “direct contact with children” must complete the background check process prior to employment.
 Results must be submitted within ten days of receipt.
