Florida A&M
University’s Facilities, Planning, Construction and Safety/Building Maintenance/Housing Maintenance Department is pleased to announce the
acceptance of qualified applications for the Operations Supervisor
vacancy.

Responsibilities


Inform
subordinates of all relevant University Regulations and Internal Operating Procedures and provides access to all related documents; Assess
and document subordinates’ ability to comply with all relevant University Regulations and Internal Operating Procedures; Employ measures of
accountability for compliance with University Regulations and Internal Operating Procedures; Conduct and document performance evaluations in
a timely manner for each subordinate, in accordance with University Regulations and Internal Operating Procedures; Plan, organize and direct
all interior and exterior maintenance and repair for University residential facilities; and supervise interior and exterior landscape and
grounds repairs for the University residential facilities.

Coordinate and supervise the daily work assignments and
objectives for maintenance, custodial, and ground workers; Inspect work performed by the teams who are responsible for all interior and
exterior repairs and upkeep at University Housing; These repairs include, but are not limited to: cleaning, or grounds work; Responsible for
the maintenance and repairs of the fire safety equipment in the residential facilities in coordination with University Safety
Director;


Conducts and supervises periodic inspections of university residential facilities; Inspect of all facilities’
interior and exterior; Train and evaluate maintenance workers in University Housing; Establish standards of performance; Requisition tools,
equipment and materials for maintenance workers to ensure proper maintenance and repair of residential facilities; Submission of
time-sheets, leave forms and work orders; and provides additional reports as required.

Minimum Qualifications


High school
diploma or equivalency and three years of related experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate
for the required experience.

Knowledge of supervisory principles, practices, and techniques;


Knowledge of and the
ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices; and,

Ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships.


Anticipated Salary
Range

The salary range is between $36,000 to $40,000 commensurate with relevant
experience.


Licenses and Certifications

Must
maintain a valid Driver’s License.



Pay
Plan

This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System)
position.


Conditions of
Employment

Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of
criminal records, reference checks and verification of education. An official college transcript, a high school diploma, or other
educational documents must be submitted, where applicable, at the time of employment.

Time Limited
Position

This position is “time-limited”. Time limited positions are funded by a contract or grant,
auxiliaries and local funds having a defined expiration date. Persons hired in such positions are eligible to attain permanent status with
the University but are not entitled to retention rights in the event of the expiration and/or non-renewal of the contract or
grant.



Schedule

Scheduled work hours are
6:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Friday.


PLEASE NOTE: This position is an essential position that is expected to function
during emergency
situations.
