The IU Center for Rural Engagement improves the lives of Hoosiers through collaborative initiatives that discover and
deploy scalable and flexible solutions to common challenges facing rural communities. Working in full-spectrum community innovation through
research, community-engaged teaching, and student service, the Center builds vision, harnesses assets, and cultivates sustainable leadership
structures within the communities with which it engages to ensure long-term success.
Job
Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Coordinates with Director of Community Initiatives to support
community resilience initiatives, including planning, project management, and follow-up for new and ongoing projects. - Tracks project
milestones, deliverables, and timelines across multiple resilience-focused efforts to ensure steady progress. - Provides meeting
coverage, including agenda preparation, note-taking, documentation of action items, and follow-up with internal and external
partners - Maintains 2-way communication between the CRE and ERI’s Indiana Resilience Funding Hub by sharing updates, needs, and
grant-related opportunities to align strategy and reduce duplication of effort. - Provides technical and subject matter assistance to
IRFH fellows working with rural communities to access funding sources for climate, energy, and resilience initiatives. - Works closely
with SHC and other CI Team members to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment across Center initiatives. - Oversees
resilience-related SHC projects and maintain good communication with SHC program
director.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- High school diploma or
equivalent (such as HSED of HED)
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Required
- Possess a valid
driver’s license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the
ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves
sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to move
up to 15 pounds The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation..

required throughout the center’s service region
