Job Description:


Summary:

The Part-Time Staff Course Developer’s principal responsibility is to translate existing Child Development Associate (CDA) Program course modules from English to Spanish. They will also work on fine tuning and developing additional modules in Spanish as needed. Ongoing communication with the CDA Program Director and Assistant Director throughout the translation and development process is expected.

Essential Functions:


  • Translate existing Child Development Associate (CDA) Program course modules from English to Spanish.
  • Fine tuning and developing additional modules in Spanish as needed.
  • The Course Developer must represent SOE’s mission and vision of antiracist values and equity.
  • The Course Developer must be very detail-oriented, able to multitask and respond to CDA Assistant Director and Program Director queries in an accurate and timely manner.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Part-Time.
  • 15 hours per week.
  • This is a temporary part-time position.
  • Continuation of the program/position is contingent upon external funding.


Salary Range:

  • $27 – $33 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • 1 – 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience conducting research in one of the following areas: education, sociology, cultural studies, or an interdisciplinary, social sciences set of fields.
  • The successful applicant must have experience in translating and creating university based courses from English to Spanish as well as experience and knowledge about CDA program competencies and standards as outlined by the Council for Professional Recognition.
  • The successful candidate must also have experience using Canvas as the mode of coursework delivery.

Preferred Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree.
