Description:
Part-Time Gifted Program Curriculum Developers for Baylor TIP create curriculum documents for courses offered
to the students who qualify for and participate in the talent development programs offered through The Center for Gifted Education and
Talent Development. These programs include but are not limited to DECATS at Baylor, TIP Intermediate and TIP summer classes, academic
competitions, and University for Young People. TIP Gifted Program Instructors may provide both online and on-the-ground
instruction.

  • Complete all required trainings and
    job-specific assignments prior to beginning work
  • Submit curriculum documents, including resources and supplies needed, by given
    deadlines
  • Create lessons that engage students in the content by utilizing best educational practices
  • Include detailed
    instructions in the curriculum documents so that an experienced instructor to implement the lessons as intended
  • Incorporate
    activities into the curriculum that enable students to better understand their own talents and college/career goals
  • Ensure that
    curriculum allows instructors to adhere to and enforce all safety and risk management policies
  • Meet with instructors, if
    requested by the Center’s leadership team, to provide an overview of the curriculum and to answer questions
  • Collaborate with
    Center leadership team to resolve any issues or concerns in an appropriate manner that aligns with the Center’s mission and policies
  • Maintain positive relationships with all Baylor staff

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree and
some graduate level coursework completed



Content expertise in the area of instruction (e.g., mathematics, engineering etc.)



Pedagogical skills and/or previous experience teaching children or adolescents

Ability to communicate effectively and
positively


Strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications


Completed graduate degree in content
area of course being developed. Relevant professional experience in content area being taught may substitute for graduate-level coursework.

Teaching certificate with specific GT training


Experience in instructional design

Teaching experience with high
ability students
