Job Description:

Function of Position:


The part-time Web Developer assists in the migration, development, and maintenance of website content as Monroe Community College transitions from the TYPO3 content management system to the Modern Campus CMS. The position supports the transfer, placement, and organization of web content while ensuring compliance with Title II and ADA accessibility standards. Responsibilities may also include creating and editing web content and collaborating with staff to determine appropriate content structure and placement in alignment with college branding, usability, and web governance standards.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Assists with the migration of web content from the TYPO3 content management system to the Modern Campus CMS.
  • Transfers, formats, and organizes website content in accordance with established templates, standards, and best practices.
  • Supports the review and remediation of web content to ensure compliance with Title II and ADA accessibility requirements.
  • Creates, edits, and updates web pages and related digital content as needed.
  • Collaborates with marketing, web, and campus stakeholders to determine appropriate content structure and placement.
  • Assists in maintaining website organization, navigation, and overall usability.
  • Performs basic quality assurance testing to identify and resolve content, formatting, or accessibility issues.
  • Follows college branding, style, and web governance guidelines.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience working with the TYPO3 content management system.
  • Experience with web accessibility standards, including Title II and ADA compliance.
  • Proficiency in HTML and web content markup.
  • Strong written communication, editing, and organizational skills.
  • Experience creating, editing, and organizing web content within a CMS environment.
  • Ability to follow established web standards, branding guidelines, and content governance practices.
  • Experience working in a higher education or similar institutional environment.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Earned bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field from a regionally accredited higher education institution
  • Experience supporting website content migrations or CMS transitions.
  • Familiarity with Modern Campus CMS or comparable enterprise content management systems.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud applications (e.g., Photoshop) for basic image editing and optimization.
  • Fiver (5) or more years of professional web development or web content management experience.
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish or other languages proficiently

Additional Information:

Salary: $35/hour


Job Type: Part-time, 10-12 hours/week
