responsible for delivering holistic and comprehensive advisement to a caseload of students. The Pathway Coordinator will serve as an
Academic Advisor and advise students regarding program selection and course planning, as well as career and transfer planning.
This
is a full-time, administrative position.
Example of Duties:
- Manage caseload of students and deliver academic
advisement and support to students based on the Proactive Caseload Management model of advisement. - Conduct regular outreach to
ensure students stay on track and connect to services. - Monitor students’ progress by reviewing academic plans, schedules, alerts,
grades, etc.; - Keep current with relevant curricular updates through meetings with department chairs, faculty, and various
departments across all PCCC campuses. - Teach a College Success Course.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to plan programs
and events that support the retention and completion of students. - Support student persistence using technologies, such as
self-service modules, Colleague and retention alert systems; - Serve as the primary liaison between advisors at alternate locations
and cohort groups to maintain consistent advising practices. Collaborate with the main campus Center for Student Success to ensure alignment
and effective communication. - Register students for courses according to the requirements of their major.
- Participate in
training and professional development as required. - This position requires monthly travel to the Paterson main campus.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required in a related field.
- Two years’ relevant experience in higher education preferred.
- The ability to work with a diverse population and handle a
high volume of student contact. - Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability
to work both independently and as part of a team.
The completion of a background check will be required for the selected
candidate.
Compensation: Salary is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous
relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The starting salary for this position is $55,000.
