Digital Library Services is seeking to hire a
PC Systems Specialist, Intermediate, on a full-time basis at our Atlanta campus. The scope of the responsibilities will
include these essential duties, but is not limited to the following:
- Troubleshot and maintain computer hardware.
- Uses
software imaging and software deployment tools to install and update OS and applications on Windows and Mac computers. - Documents the
maintenance conducted on hardware and software. - Participates in the annual computer cycle refresh program for the
library. - Provides technical support for audio/video and other specialized hardware as needed (e.g. classroom A/V, Virtual Reality
rooms, Multimedia Production rooms, etc.). - Provides technical support for users of Windows and Mac computers throughout the library.
Responds to help desk tickets. - Creates service requests with vendors for the repair of in-warranty computer hardware.
- Trains
and advises faculty and staff users on new hardware and/or software. - Maintains and updates custom configurations on Library
specialty applications such as self-checkout machines, Pharos release, and quick print stations, ALMA staff printer configurations, visitor
management system(s), etc. - Hires, trains, and supervises student assistants.
- Consults on hardware and software selection in
support of new initiatives and emerging technologies introduced into the library environment. - Interacts with campus technology staff
and external vendors to maintain product and system knowledge.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s
degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of computer maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, practices, and
equipment. - Knowledge of Windows and Mac workstations.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team
environment. - Ability to multitask and use independent judgment.
