JOB SUMMARY:
The program coordinator will support the research and educational activities of the NSF funded project entitled: RII FEC: Advancing Climate Neutrality in Farming Communities through Upcycling Natural Fiber Reinforced Fireproof Vitrimer Composites. The program coordinator will undertake the following responsibilities:
JOB DUTIES:
10% – Essential – Planning and Administrative Support:
Collaborate with Clemson faculty, students, postdocs, and partners on NSF project planning to meet goals, outreach, tracking, budgeting, and scheduling. Identify gaps in planning and suggest changes for efficiency. Organize and attend meetings, documenting updates, discussions, and actions. Act as the primary contact for NSF outreach. Provide administrative support to the NSF team as directed by the Clemson PI. Responsibilities include managing team schedules, coordinating with stakeholders, arranging travel, and processing reimbursements.
50% – Essential – Outreach Program Management:
Develop and manage the outreach program, ensuring accountability for project timelines and deliverables. Create documentation and communications for the program rollout and support of the NSF-funded project led by Dr. Gang Li. Coordinate outreach initiatives and engage with local schools, community colleges, and other organizations to activate the NSF outreach strategy. Monitor and evaluate these initiatives. Prepare communication materials, including emails and presentations, for the project. Attend conferences to stay updated on trends and enhance the project’s visibility.
10% – Essential – Marketing:
Work with Marketing and Communications to manage social media for the NSF project by posting engaging content, creating media, providing support, responding to inquiries, and expanding our presence on various platforms. Schedule posts with relevant hashtags and analyze social data to inform strategies.
20% – Essential – Data Analysis and Reporting:
Prepare the Clemson section of annual reports and manuals on outreach initiatives for the NSF project. Use analytical skills to evaluate trends, recommend actionable solutions, and enhance outreach efforts. Report on center performance internally and externally. Maintain all center records and track key performance indicators. Respond to information requests from NSF and project partners. Provide regular project status reports outlining planning steps and implementation activities to ensure targets are met under the center directors’ governance.
10% – Essential – Other Duties as Assigned:
The Program coordinator will also undertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisor, Dr. Gang Li.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education – 1st Bachelor’s Degree
Work Experience – 1+ years
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education – 1st Master’s Degree – Business Administration, Leadership & Organizational Development

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Duties – Not responsible for supervising employees.

No Budget Responsibilities – No fiscal responsibility for the department’s budget.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period

WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard Hours: 40
COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Pay Range: $ 39,764.00 – $ 60,000
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson’s compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
