POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Chief
of Police or designee, the Security Systems Administrator is responsible for the implementation and support for a broad range of physical
security system matters including providing direction, installation, support, and service for physical security systems and technology
including, access control, alarm systems, weapons detection systems, video management systems, intercom systems, and associated applications
and peripherals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee the administration and maintenance of physical security
systems, including access control, surveillance cameras, alarms, and intrusion detection systems. (Cloudgate, IMC, Indigo, Hugs, Lenel,
Rave, RedSky) - Implement and manage security policies and procedures related to physical security systems.
- Manage the design,
budgeting, and implementation of security infrastructure projects. - Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot security hardware and
software components. - Conduct regular audits and assessments of physical security systems to identify and take action on
vulnerabilities and areas for improvement. - Coordinate with security personnel and other departments to ensure comprehensive security
coverage. - Support the Public Safety response to security incidents and alarms, conduct investigations and provide detailed
reports. - Stay updated with the latest advancements in physical security technology and best practices.
- Chair monthly
security infrastructure team meeting. - Develop and manage the annual security system infrastructure budget.
- Manage security
vendor performance. - Assign work to security vendors.
- Acts as liaison to Information Technology and security vendors for all
physical security system matters. - Develop strategies for engagements with key partners, clients, and other stakeholders. Directs
planning activities in preparation for presentations and coordinates follow-up. - Develops and tracks key metrics/KPIs for strategic
priorities. - Ability to produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to
- Perform other duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Security Management, or a related field
(Preferred) - 2-4 years security related experience.
- Relevant certifications such as PSP (Physical Security Professional) or
CPP (Certified Protection Professional). - Proven track record of successful program and/or project management in a security context.
Ability to apply resources to attain effective outcomes. - Proven track record of the ability to think strategically while planning,
organizing, coordinating and directing multiple projects and activities and varied deadlines in support of a complex
agenda. - Demonstrated ability to exercise exemplary judgment and ensure the utmost discretion and confidentiality in all
matters. - Experience with Video, card access systems/ and/or competency in computer usage and able to learn new
skills. - Willing to get Certifications in Security.
- Highly results-oriented; displays a penchant for
action.
