The Office of the Executive Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer provides executive leadership and oversight of key administrative functions that support the university’s operations. This office partners across academic and administrative units to ensure effective governance, streamlined processes, and the delivery of high-quality services that enable Rutgers to achieve its strategic goals
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Senior Executive Associate for the Office of Information Technology. This position will support Office of the Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer (OIT) and the Office of the Executive Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Provides independent, confidential, executive-level administrative support for the Office of the SVP & CIO and the Office of the EVP & CAO.
- Manages the day-to-day office operations and procedures.
- Maintains an informed understanding of the immediate and long-term priorities, deadlines, and expectations for projects and/or responses to issues and concerns.
- Anticipates executive needs to proactively provide support.

Work Arrangement
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates working knowledge and understanding of office administration, work organization, coordination, facilitation and/or report writing principles and practices.
- Five years or more of related experience working for a senior level administrator with demonstrated executive level organization and decision-making skills.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, attention to the subject matter involved, and complete accuracy in all tasks.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent attendance and work habits.
- Ability to effectively multi-task while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to collaborate well with others.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ten years or more of related experience working for a senior level administrator in higher education.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Rutgers University policies, procedures, and organizational structure
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills with an ability to comprehensively plan, execute, and evaluate project effectiveness.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
