Salary Range: $85000.00 – $88000.00 Salary/year
Western New England University is seeking a detailed-oriented and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join the Controller’s Office team. This critical role supports the accuracy and integrity of the University’s financial reporting and is primarily responsible for managing all aspects of cash management, including preparing cash flow projections, and reconciling the gift processing system with the general ledger. The position plays a vital role in both the month-end and year-end closing processes and collaborates closely with departments across the University to ensure accurate recording of transactions. This position also contributes to a variety of other financial and accounting functions needed to meet the needs of the University.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, and the ability to work independently with accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA and/or master’s degree in accounting is desirable.
- Three to five years accounting experience and two years experience in nonprofit accounting.
- Experience in higher education, nonprofit fund accounting-restricted/unrestricted funds.
- Experience in reconciling data between financial systems.
- Ability to research and resolve financial discrepancies independently.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)
- High attention to detail with a commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
