Position
Summary:
Working under the guidance of the Senior Director of Information Security and Systems, the Senior
Systems Administrator plays a pivotal role in supporting NYU Steinhardt’s mission to lead in advancements in education and innovation. The
incumbent is responsible for overseeing the monitoring and maintenance of all NYU Steinhardt’s core systems, applications, and
infrastructure. The role will lead technical remediation efforts, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
Responsibilities: include day-to-day administration and management of both Windows and Linux Servers,
identify infrastructure-related risks, respond to incidents, and ensure all services remain reliable, performant, and compliant with
university standards. In addition to close collaboration with our Global Infrastructure and Information Security Offices to ensure the
effective operation of our cloud-based applications. The incumbent will be responsible for creating and updating internal documentation,
developing KPI reports to gauge service effectiveness, and lead essential training of other System Administrators and/or end-users.
Responsibilities: will also extend to supporting our data backup and network monitoring solutions,
ensuring the integrity and security of our infrastructure. Moreover, this role will actively contribute to the planning and execution of all
critical system projects and engage appropriate teams/vendors when specialized support is
needed.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in
Computer Science or Information Systems
Required Experience:
5+ years Relevant experience or equivalent
combination.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of Mac and Windows Operating Systems, Experience
creating diagrams and documentations, Experience training customers or staff, Understanding of IT Operations and utilizing HelpDesk, 3- 5
years administering and supporting Linux and Windows Server environments, Administering and supporting cloud or SaaS-based applications and
services, 3- 5 Administering Microsoft Hyper-V or VMWare Virtual environments, Experience creating Powershell, Batch, or Unix scripts, or
utilizing automation tools, Experience with NMS or SIEM tools, including Backup technologies, 2 -3 administering and managing Mysql and SQL
Server databases, Basic Networking, a complete understanding of DNS, 5+ years Administering and supporting Active Directory and Certificate
environments, Experience collaborating on project teams or developing IT Strategies.

Information:
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position
is USD $90,000.00 to USD $110,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the
position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational
considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives,
bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
