Summary
This role manages the sorting, distribution, and collection of mail including driving a van to accomplish hand-carry
messenger runs from the Vet School to other University facilities. Coordinates the bio-hazardous waste disposal/preparation program and
animal food distribution. Maintains and manages supply inventory and opens and closes the loading dock. Moves furniture and equipment within
school/hospital.
Job Description
The Service Coordinator coordinates the day-to-day package receiving and
distribution function. This position works to fundamentally ensure that members of the community receive the highest quality service and
oversees the daily tasks of the mailroom. This is a working position in that the Service Coordinator may be required to assume other
responsibilities in times of high-volume or short-staff conditions.
Job responsibilities include:
- Manages sorting of
mail - Coordinates bio-hazardous waste
- Drives van/messenger run for Vet School
- Moves furniture within Vet
School - Coordinates animal food distribution
- Maintains inventory of supplies
- Opens and closes the loading
dock - Lab coat laundry distribution
- Coordinating deliveries with internal and external partners
- Other duties and
responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Grad/GE Degree and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent
combination of education and experience is required. 2-3 years of relevant experience in a related work environment is preferred. - A
valid driver’s license is required. - This position requires walking, standing, use of standard tools, lifting, and moving of
often-delicate equipment between 100 – 500 pounds. The job requires the ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted. The Service Coordinator must
be physically able to perform all functions of this position. - This position is considered “essential.” Essential employees are
defined as workers who support the University’s critical operations.
