STARTING SALARY RANGE: $22,957 – $29,954

RESPONSIBILITIES: The two part time Simulation
Specialists (SS) have responsibility for maintaining the simulation center and supporting the initiatives and goals as defined by Southern
Maine Community College (SMCC) and the office of the Academic Dean. By coordinating a broad range of simulation center functions including
collaborative development with faculty, the SS will provide supervision and training of simulation technicians and technology training for
faculty. With a background in simulation theory, the SS will encourage the use of simulated learning techniques for faculty and students
while participating in strategic planning.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree or related education and
professional simulation experience or a six year combination of education and experience may be substituted, however, at least two years of
experience providing simulation management is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree or related
education and professional simulation experience.in related field; CHSE, CHSOS, or equivalent certification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
& ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Experience with sophisticated physiologic monitoring devices, audiovisual interfaces, IP recording
systems, IT infrastructure, electronic and pneumatic mechanisms related to medical simulation - Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy
and physiology; high degree of comfort with computer technology; high level interpersonal skills to work with clinicians/medical staff at
all levels of medical care. - Experience with simulation system matrixes and AV implementation, installation and upgrading.
- Understanding of adult learning principles as they apply to simulation training and production principles.
