City Colleges of Chicago (CCC), the largest community
college system in Illinois, is made up of seven colleges and five satellite sites, providing more than 70,000 students each year access to a
quality, affordable education.
STEAMbassador Program, is a mentorship workforce initiative designed to engage college student in
discovering, strengthening, and sharing their STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) interests and passions with youth,
with the goal of integrating STEAM into the everyday lives of and building learning pathways for youth. STEAMbassador utilizes a “from
community, for community” model to address inequities and lack of educator representation from and programming in underserved,
underrepresented communities, particularly in STEAM.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Teacher Programs, STEAMbassadors are college students from partnering two- and four-year institutions functioning as specially trained

STEAMbassadors work with youth to foster and cultivate their interest in STEAM related fields and areas of
learning, providing them with a robust set of experiences on a variety of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM)
activities in both informal learning spaces (i.e. parks and libraries) and on-line programs.
The STEAMbassador program offers
