Job Summary

The Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA) Store
seeks a highly motivated, dependable, and creatively minded individual to support the team while working in an energetic and collaborative
environment.


The UMFA is the state and the University fine arts museum, serving as a vital cultural
resource for Utah and the broader region. Established in 1914, the Museum stewards an encyclopedic collection of more than 22,000 objects
representing 5,000 years of human creativity across the globe. Through its exhibitions, programs, and collections, the UMFA advances understanding of the visual arts and their role in shaping and reflecting the human
experience.

Under the supervision of the Store Manager the Store Clerk’s primary responsibility is to deliver excellent customer
service by welcoming patrons to the store, maintaining displays, processing accurate transactions in our point-of-sale system, and sharing
basic vital information about the Museum with our guests.


Responsibilities
Provide excellent customer service to Museum
guestsa. Greet each guest with a friendly face and helpful attitudeb. Ability to multi-task and prioritizec. Accurately process store
transactionsd. Answer phone calls professionallye. Complete cleaning and stocking duties while remaining aware of customer needs

Demonstrate museum knowledgea. Responsible for general knowledge of Museum operationsb. Awareness of current exhibitions and programsc.
Receives updates via email, reviews general calendar and responds to email correspondenced. Proficient in selling memberships and member
benefitse. Assist customers with calendar, exhibition, program and event questions

Minimum
Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related
work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Preferences
A successful candidate possesses exceptional customer service skills, is
a self-starter with a dedication to quality, presentation, and cleanliness. Reliability and dependability are a must.

Previous
experience in retail or another customer driven environment is preferable.

Schedule Summary:
This position is up to 19 hours per week and will require one weekend day, afternoon and occasional evening
availability is preferred.Scheduling depends upon other staff members availability.Store hours of operation: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday,
Saturday, Sunday 10-5 and Wednesday 10-8
