Description
Under the
direction of the assigned manager, provide advanced support services to students in various District programs and centers. Refer students to
other District services and opportunities as appropriate.
Responsibilities and
Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Act as liaison between the student and the pertinent
county and/or community agencies. - Recruit and help students to enroll.
- Create and deliver promotional literature to assist
with program recruitment. - Assist with referrals to appropriate people and/or agencies within the college and
community. - Develop and maintain working relationships with community members/programs.
- Monitor and support student success
using the District case management system, tools and technology and refer students to resources on and off campus, as needed. - Assist
center/program in monitoring student success Plan, design, and implement program or project elements that support service
delivery. - Oversee and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned
program/services. - Perform related duties and responsibilities as
assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge of:
- Conducting effective
seminars and presentations to small and large groups. - Office procedures, methods and equipment including computers, word processing
software, database software, and record keeping strategies. - Data/ information management and analysis
- Local community
agencies and community-based resources
Ability to:
- Understand and work with diverse needs of the
students within the assigned program/center. - Plan and organize workshops.
- Think critically and problem-solve a variety of
issues. - Communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written formats.
- Advocate for
students/programs/services. - Understand and apply the rules and regulations of the assigned program to best meet the needs of the
students. - Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships. Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of
the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, linguistic, and ethics backgrounds and
disabilities of community college students and staff as demonstrated by skills and abilities in cultural responsiveness and cultural
humility.
Education and Experience
Any combination of experience and training that would provide
the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would
be:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or
university.
Experience:
Three years’ experience in providing resources and support for student
success.
