Job Summary
The Marketing Communications Supervisor is
responsible for developing and executing marketing and communication strategies to enhance the visibility, engagement, and reputation of the
College of Education. This role involves outlining and creating impactful content for digital and print platforms, including the biannual
College magazine and impact report, website, and newsletters, collaborating with stakeholders to identify key stories and events,
supervising part-time marketing interns in social media, design, and communications roles, as well as supervising one full time marketing
specialist, coordinating promotional materials, serving as a liaison for media outlets and first point of contact for College of Education
departments with marketing needs.

Responsibilities
Direct/Manage/Supervise the development of marketing
communications and strategic marketing plans. Collaborate across marketing teams to create communications strategies that support marketing
campaigns and lead generation objectives. Work collaboratively with executives, product development, and product marketing teams to develop
content and communications program. Review and update marketing collateral to align with messaging and brand standards. Ensure brand
standards are enforced and optimized across the business. Oversee media relations team on the writing of press releases, copy for marketing
materials, reports, advertisements, and other related material. Work with marketing leadership, sales leadership, and field marketing teams
on planning and messaging develop to support sales goals. Coordinates and leads daily team activities. May spend a portion of time
performing the work of those they supervise. Assists with management decisions and activities. Working knowledge of team function within the
organization.
Department Specific Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute marketing and communication strategies to enhance the
college’s visibility, engagement, and reputation. - Scripting/speechwriting for college leadership and other stakeholders.
- Create compelling, well-researched content for digital platforms, including websites, social media, email campaigns, newsletters, and
other marketing materials such as annual appeals, the biannual college magazine, and the annual impact report. - Coordinate and
support the production of promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, videos, and presentations. - Strategically delegate tasks
to the appropriate marketing intern or marketing specialist and track task status to completion. - Supervise part-time student
interns (up to 3). - Supervise one full-time marketing specialist.
- Assist or collaborate with external consultants in
developing brand guidelines and ensure consistency in messaging, visuals, and brand identity across channels. - With initial
training, develop marketing plans within budget requirements. - Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to identify key
stories, achievements, and events for promotion and publicity. - Collaborate with external consultants and apply research outcomes to
marketing strategies. - Collaborate with CoE departments and dean’s staff to develop marketing materials that suit messaging needs as
defined by departments (not the marketing office). - Assist dean with developing a guiding vision for the CoE marketing strategy and
ensure it aligns with strategic plan and any market research conducted by consultants. - Liaise with external consultants to ensure
products, services and other offerings are consistent across brand identity; conduct ongoing brand management. - Work with creative
staff and other department heads to produce marketing materials in accordance with brand messages. - Serve as a liaison for media
outlets as needed. - With training and support conduct market research, competitor analysis, and surveys to gather insights and
inform marketing strategies. - Stay updated on industry trends in education.
- Stay updated on best practices and emerging
technologies in marketing and communications.
Supervisor, Marketing Communications ManagementRequires a bachelor’s
(or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master’s (or equivalency) degree.This is a Supervisor-Level position in
the Management track.
Senior Supervisor, Marketing Communications ManagementRequires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4
years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.This is a Senior Supervisor-Level position in the
Management track.
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be
substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work
experience).

Communications Management: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master’s (or
equivalency) degree.
Senior Supervisor, Marketing Communications Management: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4
