Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise with advising systems such as EAB Navigate, degree audit platforms, or CRM tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data reporting and visualization.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Masters degree in higher education, information technology, business administration, or related field.
  • More than five (5) years experience managing or supporting advising or student success technologies in higher education.
  • Experience leading AI technology projects or workflow redesign initiatives in advising or student services.
  • Knowledge of academic advising practices and proactive, humanistic advising models.
  • Training or certification in project management or data analytics.
  • Commitment to technology solutions and user-friendly experiences.

Job Description:

Systems Analyst II for Academic Advising & Transitions ensures the effective integration, management, and continuous advancement of advising-related technology systems to support advisors daily functions and institutional advising strategies. This role serves as the primary liaison between advising units and campus technology partners, champions automation and workflow improvements, and leverages data analytics to enhance operational efficiency. The position works collaboratively to provide training and technical support that enables advisors to deliver proactive, humanistic, and consistent advising experiences.



Job Duties:

Core Responsibilities


  1. Technology Integration and Advocacy
    • Collaborate with campus technology units including the Office of the University Registrar, Division of Student Success, Division of Information Technology, and Admissions (TXST Global) to advocate for advising system needs and improvements.
    • Lead efforts to identify, evaluate, and implement AI solutions that streamline advising workflows and enhance user experience.
    • Ensure advising technology platforms (e.g., EAB Navigate, degree audit tools, etc.) are optimized for advisor and student use.

  2. Workflow Automation and Efficiency
    • Design and manage advising process automation initiatives that reduce administrative burdens and enable advisors to focus on proactive student engagement.
    • Partner with operational and advising leadership to develop efficient workflows supporting caseload management, campaign coordination, and reporting.
    • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain smooth technology operations.

  3. Training and Collaboration
    • Collaborate closely with the Associate Vice Provost for Academic Advising and Transitions (AVPAAT) to integrate technology training into advisor onboarding and ongoing professional development.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to advising staff on the use of advising technologies and data tools.
    • Serve as a resource to advise campus partners on advising technology capabilities and best practices.
    • Maintain and track hardware and other physical assets.
    • Supervise technology Graduate Assistant(s).

  4. Data Analytics and Reporting
    • Utilize data analytics tools to generate actionable insights on advising performance, student engagement, and technology usage.
    • Develop reports and dashboards to inform leadership decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
    • Support institutional research initiatives related to advising technology and student success.
