Temporary Financial Assistant – Part Time

Brandeis University seeks a part-time individual (up to 25 hours per week) to provide assistance to the financial aid team from November 2025 through March 2026. In this position, you will review financial aid applications in accordance with federal, state and institutional policies. You will also be responsible for determining student eligibility using both Federal Methodology and Institutional Methodology, performing federal verification, processing appeals, and assisting with program responsibilities as experience allows.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform need analysis using Institutional and Federal Methodologies for incoming and returning undergraduate and/or graduate students; Verify matriculated and returning undergraduates students using tax returns and all other required documentation. 80%
  • Assist with one or more program responsibilities, including but not limited to the following: state grant processing, Pell Grant processing, VA benefit processing, study abroad, outside scholarship processing, and/or employee and dependent tuition remission processing. 20%
  • Other duties as assigned. 5%

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 3-5 years of related financial aid experience.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently and independently manage responsibilities.
