Salary Range:
Up to $43,000- $45,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
Hours: up to 40 hours
per week, non-exempt.

Essential Functions
Job Summary
The Transfer Specialist I will provide outreach,
information, advice and counseling regarding the admissions and student services offered for transfer students at UTSA. This position is
located in San Antonio and will serve as the primary contact for students interested in transferring to UTSA. Helps manage recruitment and
training programs offered to students and advisors.
Core Responsibilities
- Counsels prospective transfer
students regarding admission procedures, transfer credit, university policies, financial aid process, scholarships, program requirements,
registration, and available student support services. - Travels to community colleges and other learning institutions to recruit
prospective transfer students from assigned territory and other areas across the region/state. - Maintains a high level of working
knowledge of university information, organizations, opportunities and policies. - Performs individual and group presentations
providing information on undergraduate programs and services. - Advises students on transfer plans and joint admission agreements.
Develops, implements, and maintains strategies of the transfer student recruitment plan. - Provides preliminary academic advising,
transcript evaluation and admissions counseling for transfer students. - Provides outreach to advising centers and serves as a liaison
to selected community colleges and target transfer populations. - Coordinates, organizes, and participates in major programs, events,
and other recruitment opportunities both on and off campus. Such as our large open house UTSA Day hosted in San Antonio at our Main Campus
(various times a year). - Manages data, prospects, applicants and recruitment territories through the customer relations management
(CRM) system to enhance student relationships, communication timelines and to connect students with other areas of the
university. - Represents the Transfer Recruitment team in a public-speaking capacity both on and off campus and maintain records of
these activities in the CRM. - Reports data on territory, programs, projects, Salesforces cases and travel activities.
- Serves
as back-up, to Senior Transfer Specialist, leading in resource gathering, research, meetings and as needed - Cultivates working
relationships with UTSA colleges, departments, counselors and advisors to enhance customer service and knowledge base to share with
community college contacts. - Responds to written information requests from prospective transfer students, college/university &
community partners in a timely manner. - Performs other duties as assigned.
Required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Two years of experience working with students in an
academic or school setting with a broad understanding of institutional admissions requirements. - This position requires the ability
to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.

Abilities
- Demonstrated public and interpersonal communications skills.
- Audio-visual presentation equipment and
standard office equipment.

Working Conditions
- Office Environment to include UT San Antonio Downtown campus, local
community college, and home office. - Occasional evening and weekend hours.
- Travel to off-site locations within the San
Antonio area.
Physical Demands:
- Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking
and standing are required, only occasionally. - Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
- This position requires walking
long distances, long periods of standing, and use of stairs.
This position will require working both remotely in Texas
and on campus (approximately five or more days on campus per month). Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility.
