Position Summary


About the Role

The University of New Mexico (UNM) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Unit Administrator 2 to join our Dining and Hospitality Services team.

Dining and Hospitality Services serves as the central administrative hub for the university’s foodservice contract, ID card office, conference sales, the University Club, and event management in select campus venues. We are dedicated to providing outstanding service to the campus community and visitors, ensuring excellence across a dining portfolio of 16 locations, events, retail operations, and various hospitality services.



This position plays a vital role in supporting the operations, strategy, and administration of campus dining and hospitality services. As part of the leadership team, you will collaborate with campus partners and vendors to enhance student and community experiences through food service, hospitality, and event management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities


  • Oversee and administer programs, strategies, and daily operations within Dining and Hospitality Services.
  • Assist with management and administration of the campus food service contract in collaboration with Aramark.
  • Compile, analyze, and report on data related to meal plan programs and campus dining operations.
  • Develop, evaluate, and implement dining events, concepts, and initiatives in partnership with our contracted food service vendor.
  • Assist with strategic planning, sustainability initiatives, rate proposals, and business performance reporting.
  • Track, document, and report on sustainability initiatives.
  • Assist with oversight and support for operations including UNM Food, LoboCard, University Club, and event and conference sales.
  • Conduct research on emerging tools, industry best practices, and new revenue streams.
  • Monitor and summarize industry trends in dining and hospitality.
  • Act as coordinator/approver for food trucks, external caterer exceptions, group dining inquiries, and gift-in-kind requests.
  • Support food insecurity initiatives and manage LoboEats application.
  • Collaborate across campus departments and external partners to support ongoing initiatives.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications


High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience managing at least one of the following functional areas: fiscal services, administration and/or human resources AND 2 years of additional experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Experience in program administration, budgeting, and contract management.
  • Knowledge of dining services, hospitality operations, related industry trends , or project management preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining strong client, stakeholder, and partner relationships, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional service and fostering collaborative partnerships.

Pay: Monthly: $3,844.53 – $5,399.33
