Merced College is seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse/Delivery Technician to support our campus
operations. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for shipping and receiving, inventory control, delivery of supplies, and assisting
with surplus property and campus moves. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to perform physical labor, and comfortable operating
delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment like forklifts.

General Description:
Performs a variety of duties and clerical work including: shipping &
receiving, processing freight, maintaining records, delivery of items, processing/sale of surplus property, perform moves and other duties
as assigned.
Examples of Duties
Essential Functions:
- Receives and verifies
quality, quantity and correctness of all deliveries - Checks and verifies delivery items received against packing slips and purchase
orders - Returns defective materials and equipment and refuses receipt of incorrect or damaged items
- Traces recipients of
unknown deliveries and troubleshoots to resolve various delivery problems - Reports and follows up on shortages, damages, and other
discrepancies - Provides backup for the mail service as needed
- Assembles item received in knocked-down
condition - Maintains suspense files
- Prepares materials for return to vendors
- Fills requisitions and packages and
marks orders for delivery - Prepares orders for delivery to requesting departments
- Loads and unloads trucks
- Maintains
cleanliness of warehouse area - Assists in annual inventory
- Assists in disposal and sale of surplus property
- Operates
delivery van and warehouse forklift - Assists in cataloging property for storage
- Responsible for coordinating and supervising
movement and relocation of furniture and equipment during building modification, classroom or office changes and new
construction - Assign and attach identification labels for District’s fixed assets
- Maintain inventory list of District’s fixed
assets - Provide day-to-day lead work direction, monitoring and training of student workers
- Other related duties as
assigned
Knowledge of:
- Warehouse procedures, requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, and delivery
slips and the use and meaning of each - Methods used in receiving, storing, issuing and keeping records of supplies and
equipment - Methods of shipping & receiving
- Freight processing
Ability to:
- Keep
accurate and current records of warehouse transactions - Follow oral and written directions
- Follow a prescribed routine
independent of close supervision - Exercise sound judgment in knowing when to refer questions to higher authority for
decision - Perform heavy physical labor
- Operate a delivery truck safely and efficiently
- Operate a forklift and scissor
lift - Work cooperatively with others
- Promote and incorporate culturally affirming DEIA and anti-racist principles to nurture
and create a respectful, inclusive, and equitable learning and work environment. In conducting their duties, staff members shall respect and

MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma OR GED AND two (2) years of applicable experience
OR the equivalent education and experience - Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic,
socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college
students
