We are seeking a new appointment to join the postgraduate Architecture team at AUB. The ideal candidate will be a specialist in contemporary architectural practice, an experienced academic leader and active researcher. 

The Masters of Architecture (MArch) course is accredited to ARB/RIBA Part 2 Level it partners the BA (Hon) Architecture course accredited to Part 1. It has a focus on the ecologies (body, social and environmental) of the area’s rural, coastal and urban contexts, through research and projects. The Masters course has links with regional, national and international architectural practices with students involved in a wide range of collaborative projects with industry. 

AUB prides itself on collaborative working between students, staff and industry. The post would be focused on the Masters level Architecture, with some collaboration with the wider AUB Postgraduate School courses. The course has a strong studio focus and access to excellent workshops and technical support to help students achieve their best. The new Innovation Studio is now established at AUB with M.Arch students and graduates involved in research and practice projects. 

The successful candidate will have good practice experience with a detailed knowledge and deep understanding of architectural processes and practices and apply this to teaching. They need to have the ability to effectively work with the course team to develop projects, briefs and teaching.   

Candidates from outside of academia must be able to demonstrate the ability to make the transition to becoming an academic. They will also ideally hold a teaching qualification or FHEA or AFHEA Membership, as appropriate (or being willing to obtain this within two years of appointment if the appointment becomes permanent) evidenced through being a recognised authority in the subject with internal and external peers as well as having a detailed knowledge and deep understanding of architectural processes and practices.
