Working as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Marketing at Kent Business School is to be part of the 1% of global business schools to gain ‘Triple Crown’ accreditation from three top business organisations: European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and The Association of MBAs (AMBA). We also gained the Small Business Charter Award in 2018.

As a dual-intensive Business School, our distinctiveness comes from a forward-thinking approach to business education. We place sustainable innovation at the heart of our educational outlook, underpinned by world-class research. We are interdisciplinary by nature, bringing innovative solutions to real world issues. We are integrated into the local business community as a hub for knowledge creation and exchange. We are proud that our industry collaborations and global partnerships benefit students, businesses and the community. Our commitment to gender equality was recognised by our 2020 Athena SWAN bronze award.

Not only will you be welcomed into the Department of Marketing, Entrepreneurship and International Business (MEIB), where internationally-recognised colleagues pride themselves on teaching excellence, you will be joining a team of world-leading researchers. We invite applications from both experienced professionals looking to move into a fulfilling role in the teaching and dedicated scholars keen to join a dynamic team and make a strong contribution to both research and teaching, as well as our student enterprise and business engagement activities.

Although all cognate areas of Marketing will be considered, we are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in areas that the Department of MEIB is looking to grow, including (but not limited to) Strategic Marketing, Digital Marketing Strategy and Planning, Digital and Social Media, Marketing Management and Communications.

For applicants interested in a E&R position, you will have previous teaching experience, and a clearly defined research agenda with a track record or clear potential to publish in top peer-reviewed journals. Evidence of income generation, impactful research, or corporate engagement is expected in the case of appointments at Senior Lecturer level.

For applicants interested in a ES&PP position, we encourage applications from research-led educators with experience in demand-driven curriculum development, technology-enabled learning, and/or executive education and Higher and Degree Apprenticeships. We are also interested in receiving applications from established marketing professionals who have experience of teaching in higher education.

In all instances applicants should be able to demonstrate how they can contribute significantly to the School’s mission of sustainable innovation.

Although based at Medway, you may be expected to take up teaching and other responsibilities at the University’s other campuses, study centres and off campus for the delivery of Higher and Degree Apprenticeships.
