Library Services at Queen Mary has a vibrant international staff group and a rapidly evolving service base. We are seeking a Library Assistant in the Enquiries team within the library frontline services, who will be responsible for answering enquiries about library resources and services via various delivery methods such as email and web chat, together with other colleagues. Additionally, you would be involved in some additional services such as library membership, or customised services for staff and students with disabilities.
You would also spend part of each working day on a service point, providing drop-in help for students about library spaces, lending services and e-resources.
You will be educated to A level or equivalent or be similarly qualified by experience. You will have experience of working in a library or have relevant transferable experience.
About the Post
The posts are based primarily at the Mile End Campus in London. This is a full time, permanent appointment with an expected start date in early July. The starting salary will be Grade 3, in the range of £28,208 – £34,733 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
The libraries are open 7 days per week and the post holder will be required to work working patterns below:
· Mon-Fri 08:00-16:00
Breaks are unpaid and are one hour on weekdays, 30 minutes at weekends.
