The University has an exciting opportunity for a Precision Medicine Research Development manager within the Living Laboratory in the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences (MVLS).
In this role, you will facilitate the development of a precision medicine/healthcare innovation triple-helix (academia-industry-NHS) research pipeline. They will proactively identify, and support academics to engage with relevant funding opportunities, collaborate with industry partners and other stakeholders.
The Living Laboratory Research Development Manager will also lead on the development of industry opportunities, enhancing and expanding our external partnerships with industry to enhance and progress our pipeline of opportunities.
This post will be offered on a full time (35 hours per week), fixed term basis until 31 July 2025.
The University has been at the core of developing the Clinical Innovation Zone at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, including the Glasgow MRC/EPSRC. This now includes the Strength in Places Funding Programme (SiPF), LivingLab; a major research and socio-economic programme that will accelerate the transformation of healthcare delivery.
The University strategy is to form a global and cutting-edge Precision Medicine (PM) cluster, providing SMEs and large industry with unique opportunities to develop and trial new technologies/services in Glasgow before exporting globally. The mainstreaming of precision medicine will create immediate productivity, generate new jobs and significantly increase GVA. The LivingLab will drive PM research, open innovation, commercialisation and adoption. It brings industry, academics, clinicians/NHS managers, patients and charities together in a highly supportive and collaborative environment.
