Politics & Government - UK Jobs

Every childhood is worth fighting for. This is our belief. It drives us. And it motivates our award-winning Policy and Public Affairs team to maintain our position as an influential, informed and forceful voice at every level. Join us as Policy Research Manager and lead progress that really matters.

The NSPCC are committed to keeping children from abuse online and we have made substantial progress towards our goal. With the Online Safety Bill in Parliament, a new regulatory framework for online harms imminent and the NSPCC embarking on a new, significant programme of policy research and thought leadership on child safety online, you will become part of a dynamic, committed team at an exciting time.

Our new Policy Research Manager will be responsible for leading a programme of cutting-edge policy research that will shape the future of the online world and ensure children are better protected. Your work developing, commissioning and managing our policy research programme will be central to deepening our understanding of online child abuse and how we can disrupt it through laws, policies and regulation. You will build persuasive, evidence-based positions based on research and use these to influence key figures in parliament, government, industry, regulators and civil society. Ultimately you will help ensure the NSPCC’s policy recommendations contribute to the delivery of a legal and regulatory framework that protects children from online harms.

We are looking for a skilled policy researcher with significant experience of managing and delivering complex policy research projects which have contributed to tangible policy change. You’ll be experienced at converting evidence and insight into compelling policy arguments on highly nuanced subject matter. You’ll have strong programme management skills and relish working on projects that need to be delivered in a fast-changing external context. You will be an effective communicator with strong written and oral advocacy skills and a proven record of building a wide range of relationships to successfully influence policy change. The successful candidate will be passionate about preventing abuse and show an understanding of the challenges facing children online.

Join us and you’ll become part of a team that cares about the work they do and the people they work with. You’ll discover opportunities to grow, along with challenges and a shared purpose that’ll bring the best out in you. And you’ll get to find your own way to make a difference that means more, and that impacts millions of young lives.
