Applications are invited for the Research Manager role at the Centre for Adolescent Rheumatology Versus Arthritis at UCL, UCLH and GOSH.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly organised and creative individual to be at the cutting edge of developments in adolescent rheumatology research. The post holder will support had deliver on key operational aspects of the Centre research and PPIE/Communication related to activities and work closely with the senior management team and wider group.
Key duties would include:
Ensuring delivery of the main operational matters for the Centre, (with support from Centre team)
Financial and HR administration.
Line manage and support the Centre administrator and Centre Research Coordinator.
Supporting the wider UCLH Rheumatology team who support the portfolio of interventional and observational trials across both sites (UCLH, GOSH)
Organize and support key Centre meetings
Manage Centre budgets, and financial liaison with funders
Support on-going development of the Centre patient and public and engagement portfolio, and lead on organisation of PPIE Governance meetings
Manage and oversee liaison with the UK adolescent rheumatology network, Barbara Ansell National Network for Adolescent Rheumatology (BANNAR) via the BANNAR Project Officer.
The successful candidate will be expected to work on their own initiative, seeking guidance and advice where necessary from Principal Investigators and Directors of the Centre. The post is funded to June 2023 in the first instance.
Candidates should be educated to degree level in science/healthcare or have equivalent experience. Previous experience of working in a research environment is desirable, but not essential. Excellent IT skills with Microsoft Programmes, as is the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. A record of project manager experience, and successful line management/supervision of staff is also essential.
