Buckinghamshire New University is an ambitious, modern university that is always open to fresh ideas and thinking. We believe in the transformative power of education, and in doing the right thing by our students, people and local community. That’s why our BNU community is a special place to work and study, and where people who want to make a difference can contribute and succeed.
BNU continues to experience rapid growth in student numbers, making us one of the fastest-growing higher education providers. This is an exciting time to join the University as our significant estates’ development programme gets underway, and we prepare to embark on our new University Strategy.
The Law teaching team of the School of Business and Law is working strategically to ensure the growth of the Law programme offered at BNU, as well as ensuring the offering of a student appealing law programme which focuses on recruiting home and international students. The Law programme is thriving as evidenced by student performance, surveys and feedback of students, and the demand for expansion in the offering of BNU Law programmes at partner institutions. We are therefore seeking academics who are teaching and research oriented and with teaching qualifications and postgraduate and doctorate degrees.
We are keen to hear from academics with a PhD or Professional Doctorate who are passionate about teaching and undertaking research and with interests in subjects such as Criminal law, Property Law, Equity and Trusts, European Union Law, Family law and Child Law. Applicants should be able to display a passion for supporting students and thrive on working collaboratively with colleagues. In addition, you will carry out administrative tasks and student pastoral care commensurate with an academic position.
What we offer:
- a generous holiday entitlement (35 days per annum, plus bank holidays & a set amount of closure days between Christmas and New Year, these days are determined and agreed on a yearly basis and are dependent on when Christmas and New Year falls each year.)

- contributory pension scheme (defined benefits scheme)
- discounted gym membership to the on-site gym
