We are looking for two full-time Research Managers (1x Senior Research Manager and 1x Social Research Manager) to join our Research and Intelligence team to support a wide range of quantitative and qualitative work across the organisation.
Both post holders will contribute and lead on publications such as our flagship annual publication, Fertility Trends, working with team members to quality assure data. Recent publications from the team include our National Patient Survey which had almost 1,300 completions from fertility patients across the UK providing information on their experiences accessing and being treated at licensed fertility clinics. We have also recently published a data publication exploring the impact of COVID-19 on fertility treatment in 2020.
The Senior Research Manager is the data research lead in the HFEA Research and Intelligence team, managing data research applications to access large and sensitive datasets for specific research purposes. The HFEA holds the largest dataset of fertility treatment (the Register) in the world – keeping a record of every patient, partner, donor, and child born as a result of fertility treatment since 1991. The Senior Research Manager works to ensure applications for data meet requirements set out in our legal framework and ensures projects are compliant with current data protection requirements. The post holder will require previous experience working with large datasets and liaising with researchers from a range of backgrounds to relay the strengths and limitations of the data we hold. They will champion our register data for research at conferences and meetings, as well as improving our engagement with researchers through mailing lists and webinars. The salary for this post is £40,738 per annum.
The Social Research Manager is responsible for managing both quantitative and qualitative work in the Research and Intelligence team. This involves developing surveys, running focus groups and facilitating interviews for a range of projects relating to key strategic areas across the organisation. For example, recent qualitative work explored how we can best present risks and uncertainties related to add-ons used in fertility treatment. We have recently created a Patient Engagement Forum to ensure patient experience can better shape the work we do. The Social Research Manager is responsible for advising or facilitating research conducted with members of the forum. The salary for this post is £35,829.
