Join our mission to make the discoveries that defeat cancer by becoming our Supporter Engagement Officer.

As the first-point of contact for our growing and loyal community of donors, events fundraisers and other supporters, you will play an important part in strengthening The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) as charity-of-choice for people who want to help advance cancer research.

This full-time role offers a wide range of opportunities for you to develop your strengths and gain valuable relationship management experience in our successful fundraising department.

The ideal candidate will be a highly organised and confident individual with experience of working in the charity sector. We are looking for someone who is passionate about meaningful interactions with new and existing supporters alike. Similarly, if you have a track record in providing excellent customer service gained in a different industry and are inspired by our life-saving mission, we would love to hear from you.

In addition to the competitive salary and generous pension and annual leave benefits, we also have flexible working arrangements as part of our blended working structure – working a minimum two days in the office and remotely for the rest of the week.

Summary of Role

As Supporter Engagement Officer, you will be required to

  • provide administrative support to the Supporter Engagement Team
  • be the first-point of contact for prospective and existing supporters
  • help us maximise the value of our relationships with all supporters 

Key Requirements

The successful candidate must have a track record in a similar role, with previous experience of Individual Giving or Sports and Challenge events fundraising being an advantage. Strong communication skills combined with a confident and professional attitude are essential to ensure we meet the wide range of our supporters’ expectations.
