Job Description
The University of
Missouri Department of Athletics is seeking a Director of Landscape, Turf, and Grounds. Reporting to the Executive Associate Athletics
Director – Chief Infrastructure Officer, this individual will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day maintenance and preparation for all
Mizzou Athletics sports fields, grounds, and landscaping within the Mizzou Sports Park.
Duties will include:
Taking a
proactive approach to all aspects of turf and grounds maintenance;
Developing and implementing plans for the successful maintenance
of all athletics grounds and fields, including all competition fields;
Maintaining and improving all landscaping, turf (both real and
artificial), and associated flora and fauna in order to create, safe, effective and aesthetically pleasing venues;
Preparing
facilities in accordance with all NCAA and SEC conference rules and regulations, establishing environmentally sound cultural practices that
promote safe playing conditions;
Managing budgets related to athletics fields and grounds;
Overseeing large-scale facilities
projects such as the replacement of competition turf fields;
Purchasing, maintaining, and managing inventory of athletics field
maintenance equipment and supplies;
Maintaining relationships with coaching staffs and university officials regarding practice/game
schedules, camp dates, and inclement weather situations and providing guidance to those individuals;
Managing and coordinating a team
of full and part-time employees;
Other duties as assigned.
Shift
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights,
Weekends, and Travel as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent
combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is
necessary
Preferred Qualifications
Prior Experience in Grounds & Turf
Management.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $69,100 – $73,000
Grade: GGS
