Scope of
Job:

To perform a variety of duties for engineering projects for the Texas Manufacturing
Assistance Center. Projects may include,
but are not limited to providing hands-on training and technical assistance to help customers become more profitable via improvements in
quality, productivity, and general business operations. Responsible for providing technical assistance to small and medium-sized
manufacturers and supervising entry-level specialists and interns.



Description of Duties:
Coordinates the planning and
execution of engineering projects for Center’s clients.

Develops the cost estimates, negotiates contracts and resources allocation
for the project assigned.


Develops, coordinates and conducts complex training sessions and materials.

Provides technical
assistance and supports to clients by resolving issues and problems through new techniques, concepts, or technology and initiating or
coordinating research to determine innovative solutions.


Responsible for all sales activities to promote awareness of the Center’s
services through a variety of methods including telemarketing, presentations, and other special events across the community.

Develops and coordinates surveys, to provide status and required data as required.


Prepares technical and financial reports
of recommendations, projected outcomes and associated costs; maintains documentation of services provided to customers to ensure compliance
with legal, patent, and confidentiality agreements.

Develops and maintains customer relations and acts a liaison between the
customers and other university entities.


Represents the center in several internal and external events, committees, and/or
Associations.

Responsible for product development and participation in TMAC Centers of Excellence.


Performs related duties
as required.

Supervision Received:
General direction from the assigned supervisor.

Direct supervision of all assigned staff.

Required Education:
Bachelors degree from an accredited University
in a related field.


Preferred Education:

Licenses/Certifications:
Preferred: Six SIGMA, Lean
Manufacturing, Supply Chain or ISO/TS Certification


Required Experience:
Five (5) years experience in directly job-related
experience including training and project management of Six SIGMA, Lean Manufacturing, and Supply Chain and ISO/TS
