Retention Scholarship Program Coordinator (Part-Time, Temporary)

General Summary of Position:


The Retention Scholarship Program Coordinator position, reporting to the Senior Associate Director Financial Aid and Scholarships, manages retention scholarship program matters.

Major responsibilities:


  • Administrative: Manage incoming applications; coordinating the scholarship committee for application review; coordinate with IT staff on application updates; and assist scholarship team with administrative tasks throughout the financial aid cycle.
  • Communication: Provide program information to students, university staff, and external constituents; management of all Salesforce communications and cases; counsel students on financial aid status and assist in creating financial plans.
  • Reporting: Working closely with Offices of Advancement, Student Support Services and Academic Advising to maintain detailed program records used to create and present annual program reports.

Additional Considerations:

This position is contingent upon funding. This is a private foundation funded, temporary position. Position funding time frame is 2025-2027. Continued employment is contingent upon renewed funding.



Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • An earned Associates or Bachelors degree.
  • Customer service experience in an office environment.
  • Must be in good standing with the US Department of Education and Commonwealth of Massachusetts related to all aspects of federal and state student aid, including default status and grant repayments.

Additional Considerations: (If applicable)


  • Preferred – 1 year or more experience in financial aid, academic counseling, student affairs or finance.
  • Experience with CRM, Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically advanced Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
  • Embrace technology and demonstrate ways of using it to enhance service to students.
