About the Department
Established in 2016, ENI is a significant strategic
effort by both the Robinson College of Business (RCB) and the University to build upon and expand the university’s
offerings in entrepreneurship and innovation courses and experiences among all its 50,000+ students. Serving as the enabler in the
university-wide effort to cultivate a more inclusive entrepreneurial culture, ENI provides educational
opportunities and practical experiences in entrepreneurship and innovation open to all students at GSU. ENI offers rapidly growing degree programs including a BBA in entrepreneurship,
interdisciplinary undergraduate majors in entrepreneurship in conjunction with the Creative Media Industries Institute, Andrew Young School
of Policy Studies, and the Institute for Biomedical Sciences, an undergraduate minor available to all students at GSU, a graduate certificate in disruptive innovation and entrepreneurship, a concentration in entrepreneurship at the
MBA level, and a graduate degree in conjunction with the Institute for Biomedical Sciences. Over the past five
years, entrepreneurship-themed majors and the minor have collectively experienced outstanding growth, and ENI is
positioned as an important part of the future of the University and business community. ENI also offers
significant co-curricular programming including an accelerator program, student business incubator, workshops, speaker series, competitions
and community-building events. Opportunities for conducting research are excellent with similarly interested faculty colleagues across the
college and university in areas such as public policy, law, economics, management, finance, marketing, risk management, and healthcare,

Position Description
Georgia State University’s Entrepreneurship & Innovation Institute (ENI) seeks an experienced and
dynamic leader to fill the position of Academic Professional and serve as the Associate Director of Entrepreneurship. This position combines
academic leadership, entrepreneurial expertise, and strategic initiative to further enhance the Institute’s educational and programmatic
offerings. As an Academic Professional, the individual will contribute to academic development, while also overseeing operations and
initiatives that promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and community engagement within the Institute.
Key
Responsibilities:
Program Development & Strategic Leadership:
- Oversee and expand entrepreneurial
programming for students and alumni. - Collaborate with industry leaders, faculty, and students to create new opportunities for
innovation and entrepreneurship. - Design and execute high-impact events to engage students, alumni, and external
stakeholders. - Promote the ENI’s mission by facilitating interdisciplinary partnerships across departments, schools, and external
partners. - Oversee community engagement efforts and expand the Institute’s visibility in the local and national entrepreneurial
ecosystem. - Manage budgets, resources, and operational activities for Institute programs.
Research & Thought
Leadership:
- Conduct research in the field of entrepreneurship with a focus on impact-driven innovation and
inclusion. - Collaborate on interdisciplinary research projects within the university and with external stakeholders, including
businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies. - Work closely with university and external partners to drive thought leadership in
entrepreneurship education.
Service & Outreach:
- Engage with university leadership, faculty,
and staff to drive the strategic vision of the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Institute. - Represent the Institute at academic,
industry, and community events to foster relationships and further the goals of the Institute. - Serve as a liaison between alumni
founders and current students, fostering connections for internships, funding, and venture growth.
Academic
Leadership & Teaching:
- Develop and teach courses in entrepreneurship, innovation, and related fields.
- Engage
in student mentorship by advising on startup development, incubator participation, and experiential learning opportunities. - Advise
students, supervise internships, and mentor future entrepreneurs. - Participate in curriculum development, ensuring that educational
offerings align with current trends and industry needs. - Support alumni by offering continuing education, mentorship, and
professional development opportunities in entrepreneurship
